Tractor Stories – 1950 John Deere A
![]()
Just thought I would drop a note with a couple pics of my recent restoration of a 1950 John Deere A. This tractor has been in my family since it was new. It was passed down to me about 3 years ago in pretty sad condition. I bought many of the new parts from Steiner and must say that the parts were of top notch quality as was the service and shipping time. I just finished this restoration about 3 weeks ago. This wasn't a simple cleaning and painting. It was completely restored and now operates perfectly. It turned out so well that a friend who saw it has given me a 1952 model "M" that I now intend on restoring. I will of course be looking to Steiner for many more parts in the very near future.
Thanks,
Dwayne Courtney

I am looking for a fuel pump for a John Deere 4000.
Beautiful job. I grew up, back in the 50’s, plowing, discing with my dad’s model A. Still hear those massive 2 cylinders popping in my ears. LOL. I think it was the best tractor of its time.
