1953 Allis Chalmers WD, from original owner

This is my 1953 Allis Chalmers WD, it’s all original and came from the original family who purchased the tractor new. The tractor came from Johnstown, Ohio. I purchased this tractor when I was just 14 years old. My dad and I  went and picked it up with a trailer we rented from sunbelt in my hometown, I ran the tractor for awhile before doing anything to it, then parked the tractor when the original engine gave out.

Fast forward about 3 years, my buddy Parker was leaving for the Navy and wanted to see the tractor run before he left. We found a motor from a WD45 that came out of West Liberty Ohio and I went and picked it up and installed it. We worked nights on end to make it run. Parker rewired the entire tractor for me, used tons of parts from Steiner to fix the 226ci engine, new water pump, new hoses, new air cleaner parts, new gaskets, new manifold, unfortunately, Parker left the day before the tractor started for the first time.

I lost motivation to mess with the tractor after he left, it sat at my Dad’s place for months. After Parker was medically discharged from the Navy, we picked up where we left off on the WD. We have since done a 201ci motor that was rebuilt in the 1990s with a M&W piston kit, a brand new starter, and a wide front swap, I’ll never sell the tractor. Eventually I may paint it, but as of now I have no plans to as the patina on the tractor is quite beautiful, and keeps the originality of the tractor and how well it’s held up over the years.
