Tractor Photo Contest Winner – Tractor & Barn Category

Our winner for the tractor photo contest’s top category, “Tractor and Barn,” is this Oliver 60 Row Crop in the Octagon Barn in Gagetown, Michigan.

The Oliver 60-Row Crop was restored by Carl & Alice Vollmar. Carl restored it because it reminded him of his Dad’s tractor. He has since donated it to the 2 story Thumb Octagon Barn in Gagetown, Michigan.

Come and view this tractor and others during the Thumb Octagon Barn Fall Family Days event. This celebration is held every year, the first weekend after Labor Day. This year marks the 100th Anniversary of the barn being built. This festival includes an antique tractor parade, old-time music, tractor rides, donut making, homemade ice cream, and a fish fry. There is also a craft fair-flea market with over 200 vendors.

Other buildings include a maple sugar shack, cider mill, blacksmith shop, school, school house museum, sawmill, grain elevator, and gristmill. The original restored home and barn are a must-see destination if you come to the thumb of Michigan. The museum is open weekdays, Wednesday through Sunday, at select hours, May through September.
