Daytona Yellow Ford

The 8N is 1947, the same year I was born. I did a complete out-of-frame overhaul on the engine and was going to paint it the original Ford color. My wife saw a car that she said “that’s my favorite color Daytona yellow”. So I picked up some yellow I had MF red, and gray in the shop. So now I got a Daytona yellow, Massey red, Massey gray 1947 8N.

Yellow?? you have got to be kidding. But, happy wife happy life.
Frankly, any one who does that much work can pint it any color he wants. I have two 8s both Ford paint redbellies but MF grey tops. I don’t like that original off-white top.
One thing I did do was to change to a screw-on oil filter. I remember some mechanic I could never put rubber lines on the metal I cut. I have 300 PSI hydralic hoses. No leaks. No problems
Thanks for keeping the *N alive. One of my favorites was a guy that had 2 8ns. One in blue and one in pink as he had a son and a daughtger.
