“On a snowy January morning, my late 1953 Farmall Super M rests in an open bay in an old granary. About 25 years ago I’d owned another late 1953 Super M, not restored but otherwise very similar to this one right down to the grille–which is sort of a cross between the typical M/Super M grille and the one used on the Super MTA, and was apparently only used on very late- production at the Rock Island plant. For years I regretted selling that other tractor, so when this one came up for sale 10 years ago, already nicely restored, I couldn’t resist it. It’s been my go-to tractor for general hauling tasks ever since and made for a classic scene on this wintry day.”

We’re getting ready to restore my father’s 1953 Super M. It’s date of manufacture is the same as mine! Can’t wait to hear it run again.

I am looking forward to restoring my father’s 1940 M that he purchased new when he was 17 years old and kept it until he passed away in 2017. He used it in his farming operation until he passed and at that time I became the owner. I look forward to posting pictures of the before and after pictures of my efforts in hopes that it will look as good as the one shown here.

I have a 1953 Super M in need of restoration. My father bought it used and put a New Ideal loader on it to replace the 1952 Ferguson TO-30 with a Freeman loader he bought new. When he retired and I started farming I bought the Super M and loader from him to use in my hog operation.

It makes Me content to know that these various people want to restore Their Tractors to exacting, originality. A number of years down the way ( and even now ) They’ll be glad They did.
