1951 Farmall M

This is my 1951 Farmall M with after market power steering, and live hydraulics. I bought it in August of 2023 locally from a small hobby farmer who used it as a ” yard tractor” moving haywagons. I owned a 1951 John Deere B but after a work related accident (no fault of my own or employer) that caused some lasting side effects and limitations it was really hard for me to climb up and operate with the hand clutch so I decided to look for something else.

My dad and grandpas had M’s in their line up and have close family friends who have a history working on them so I thought it was a good choice to buy between family tradition and maintaince/repair knowledge. I use this tractor on my family’s 7 acre hobby farm where my wife and parents grow Indian corn, pumpkins and gourds in their gardens and I grow corn, soybeans, and sunflowers for wildlife food plots. The tractor is center of attention at family gatherings where it’s used for hayrides. My plan is to hang onto the tractor, complete a full restore and hand it down to my son some day.
