1953 Farmall Super H

My dad was an International Harvester dealer in Marshall Co., Kansas, until the early 1950s, when he sold the dealership to farm full time and took this 1953 Farmall Super H to the farm with him. It is the tractor he taught my brother and me to farm on when I was 12 years old, and I farmed with him on it until I joined the Marine Corps at age 19.

After losing my parents, I brought this Super H to my farm in Butler Co., Kansas, where I have farmed with it for the past 30 years and am still farming with it. As a testimony to the quality of these old Farmalls, all I have done to it in 30 years is the annual servicing, but no repairs have been needed. About 15 years ago, I put a new coat of paint on it, as you can see in the picture of it bringing my wife’s deer to the barn for butchering.

I hope when I pass that, my son will keep and maintain it as it has been in the family for 70 years now.
