Riding down the Road on my Sewing machine
Jim Piske from Fairgrove Michigan stopped by our store today looking for some parts for his little tractor, unfortunately we do not carry anything for his particular model. Well we don’t sell parts for sewing machines in general. 🙂
Jim built his new John Deere from an old Singer sewing machine. With fancy fenders off a child’s tricycle, the hand wheel on the sewing machine is used as a steering wheel, and the ‘sweet seat’ is an old sugar scoop.
Jim is currently working on a Farmall made from an old pedal style sewing machine but he is having difficulty locating the decals necessary for his latest creation. But Jim doesn’t only own these tiny tractors, he also owns a Farmall Cub for when the job is too big for a sewing machine.
Re-purposing is one of my favorite things and with everyone getting on board with this new craze I love to see all the different ideas people come up with. Jim said he saw a similar sewing machine-tractor somewhere but they wouldn’t allow pictures. So he went home and built one with his own ideas. Way to go Jim! Does anyone else out there have any tractors made from non-tractor parts?
