“Uncle Allen”

My 1963 Farmall 140 tractor was purchased by my Great Uncle Allen new in 1963 for $1,500 including all its implements. He used the tractor to farm for many years. I remember him plowing and planting his garden and pulling tobacco drags with this tractor. My daddy inherited the tractor which he continued to use in his garden. I was given the tractor years ago and used it to mow with a finish mower, and plow the garden.

My husband and I restored the tractor last year. I have joined an antique farm equipment club and enjoy showing my tractor and riding in parades. I am one of a few female antique tractor owners and am proud that I can continue my family’s heritage.
By the way, my husband is a Vietnam Veteran and for that we are proud. We have chosen to fly the flag on the back of my tractor to show our patriotism and love for our country.
