1947 McCormick Deering W4
This is my 1947 McCormick Deering W4 . It is the second tractor in my little collection joining my restored 1941 McCormick Deering Farmall A. The W4 was built in January 1947 and is a non electric model. The W4 still has the original rear tires. It is also a distillate model as was common to many of the tractors to come to New Zealand at the time. I bought the W4 at an estate auction (not going) a couple of years ago on the farm this tractor had been on since new. One of the main uses it was used for was driving a chaff cutter . The W4 now has an easy life going to local vintage shows and it is often used to tow a leveler around the yard of the company I work for. Other than some small repair jobs it has not required a lot of repairs to get it to run like it did when new. Many of the parts required were supplied by Steiner Tractor Parts. The W4 will stay in this condition and it gets lots of comments due to it’s original condition.
