Tractor Story – 1948 John Deere A
Well I have a 1948 John Deere model A, I have been wanting a John Deere tractor all my life but could never afford one until about a month ago when I found one in South Carolina for $600.00 bucks. I could not believe it. I jumped on it fast within a week I went and picked it up, as soon as I got home I started to work on it. I cleaned the carburetor out, put new oil, water and gas and she fired right up. The ole tractor still needs work but hopefully soon she will be up and running they way it should.

Kevin, U’r new a is neat. We have 1 looks exactly like. My Grandfather bought it new in fall of 47,used many yrs. Traded it to a neighbor was used more then parked in fence corner to rot. We rescued it ! I think that A was more fun ,and still is ,to work on than any of the others. Have fun on u’rs it’s a nice find . Todd W. Central Ilinios
