Cutout or Regulator

announcement To ensure you are ordering the correct wiring harness please be sure to determine if you have the cutout or regulator. It is a common and costly mistake as wiring harnesses cannot be returned once they have been installed.

Voltage Regulators

  • Have 3 terminals on one side & 1 terminal either on the other side or under the regulator.
  • Cub mounts below the generator on governor housing, others mount on back of the light switch box or rear fuel tank support.
  • Also note that “from the factory” regulators were never mounted on the generator.
  • Other models’ regulators have 3 to 4 terminals.

Cut out Relays

  • will have 2 terminals on one side and 1 terminal on the other and use a 4 position light switch with a field resistor (IHS950).
  • Gas tractors mount on the generator & diesel tractors mount on the left radiator support.
  • Other models’ cut outs have 2 terminals.
  • If the control box is mounted on top of the generator it should be a cutout.
