If you love a tractor fan, here are 8 ways you can share in the tractor-themed fun with your special someone. Old iron is about lots more than solitary work in the shop. With these ideas, even the non-mechanically inclined can enjoy your favorite hobby.
- Visit a tractor museum. There are dozens of quality tractor museums scattered across the country. Many of them are mom-and-pop operations with low admission prices and friendly tour guides.
2. Go for a drive to look for/buy a tractor for sale. Plenty of great deals can be found on the side roads – and with the gorgeous fall color, your drive can do double-duty!
3. Go to a tractor show. With unique vendors, workshops, and displays you can have a full day (or two) of fun. Bonus: elephant ears.
4. Decorate a tractor-themed Christmas tree. Get creative with ornaments – in my family, we’ve decorated with small toy tractors, tractor-shaped cookie cutters, emblems from our favorite brands and models, and small stockings sewn from tractor fabric scraps.
5. Spend the day at an auction sale. Even if you don’t buy anything, it can be fun to guess on selling prices and see unique tractors.
6. Pack a picnic lunch with tractor-shaped chocolates or cookies for dessert. You can decorate cookies to match for even unusual tractor brands.
7. Enter tractors in a parade or organized drive. Here in Michigan, clubs organize a yearly drive across Mackinac Bridge, which is loads of fun. Local hometown parades and drives can be a great way to introduce others to restoration and collection as well.
8. Join a tractor club together. It’s a great way to meet life-long friends.
