Found this Massey Harris Pony in a barn. I am presently restoring it over the winter, will be done in the spring. Still need a few parts yet.

Massey Harris 44 special. I was raised in the welfare system and put out on a farm at age 13. There I learned to drive my fisrt tractor. After many years I found and restored a 44 special. This is my tractor I use in parades. This tractor had set for 18 years when I got it so I had my work cut out for me . It runs super well and I love it.

Well, it’s finished. I finally completed my restoration of my Pacer. The tractor is a 1956 Massey Harris Pacer. It belonged to my wife’s father and sat neglected in the woods at my father-in-law’s getaway for over 35 years. I appreciate all of Steiner’s help and great parts inventory.
Also, I started my restoration 7/14/2012 and finished 7/14/2014 – exactly two years AND I did ALL of the work by myself with the use of some equipment from friends, i.e. John owns a machine shop.

Here a couple of pictures of my 1949 Massey Harris Pony. While not a basket case when purchased in August 2011 it sure was ugly. My wife reffered to it as a Messy-Harry. After several cans of oven cleaner (cheaper the better) and many quarters at the car wash. I began ordering bits and pieces from Steiners. The oil pressure gauge was the wrong one and the amp gauge was nowhere to be found. The oil filter housing had about a cup full of crud in the bottom. Although it would not impress the nit-pickers in the crowd thanks to you guys I am quite happy with it.
A tip to others, be sure you take a lot of pictures, they will be a big help when it’s time to put everything back together.
