Steiner Tractor Parts tries to bring to market products that restoration enthusiasts are clamoring for and unable to find at tractor salvage yards or through aftermarket sources or the John Deere dealer. We now have in stock a part that many collectors need to keep their 2 cylinder John Deere tractor running and working! We are pleased to have back in stock our John Deere 3 point hitch adjustable upright, JDS221. This part is designed to work with and complement your original John Deere 3 point hitch assembly on the following John Deere 2 cylinder models: 520, 530, 620, 630, 720, 730 with the exception of the hi-crop models. This part has been unavailable for quite some time, so we are very pleased to be able to offer it now. We have these adjustable upright assemblies in stock and available for immediate shipment.
In addition to this piece, if you are missing parts for your John Deere 3 point hitch on these 2 cylinder models, we have many of the other components that you will require. We also recently received a shipment of the bottom yoke (JDS234). We also sell other components required for repair or restoration of the 3 point hitch including the elephant ears for 520, 530, 620 & 630 (JDS173L & JDS173R), elephant ears for 720 and 730 (JDS551, JDS553), leveling screw (JDS233), top yoke (JDS223), the lower lift arms (JDS246L & JDS246R), and the handle and pin (JDS222). We also still plan to supply the original style John Deere 2 cylinder 3 point hitch top link (JDS117). This part is an exact reproduction of the original and includes the hook and chain. You can get the hook only, JDS117HK if needed for repair. The JDS117 top link is expected in July with improved quality and we will then be able to offer a complete John Deere 3 point hitch kit.
John Deere Adjustable Cushioned Seats
In 1947 John Deere replaced the pan seat with an adjustable cushioned seat on models A, B & G. Note this innovation occured in conjunction with John Deere’s introduction of gasoline engines for the A & B models. (see photo to right) Uses backrest JDS272L (black) or JDS271L (yellow)
With the introduction of the number series tractors 50, 60 & 70 in 1952 several new improvements were featured. The cushioned seat frame was redesigned. The new design incorporated a new seat back that was not interchangeable with the seat back used on the letter series models. (see photo to left) Uses backrest JDS272N (black) or JDS271N (yellow)
Through the years some tractor seats were replaced with assemblies off of other models. For example, John Deere models A & G have seats which are interchangeable with (John Deere) models 60, 70 (& 620 – 730 models w/ standard seats). The cushioned seat on the John Deere B is more often original as it only interchanges with the 80 (& 820, 830 models w/ standard seats.)
As the difference in appearance of the seat frames is obvious, a quick inspection should reveal if your tractor has the factory seat and help you when picking out the correct seat back rest.
We have two similar looking back rests but be careful to notice the differences when ordering. Click on picture below for larger image.
