My first tractor, 1968 Ford 3000

In June of 2025, I had been looking for a tractor for the family farm for about two years now, and always being a fan of antique tractors growing up. So, naturally when I came across this 1968 Ford 3000 I couldn’t pass it up to be my first ever antique tractor and first ever restoration.

She came to me with leaking power steering and a tach that didn’t work well, and some very rough paint. Throughout the Summer she got used, and touched up when there was time. Until finally in October when the government shutdown, she got torn down and a new coat of paint and many, many new parts to get her looking showroom ready.

I managed to get her completely done just in time for one of my biggest goals as a kid and that was covering an old tractor in lights and going through the local Christmas parade. Boy! Did she look amazing with multiple comments on how good of a job I did.
