Sears lawn tractor restoration

My name is Eric and I am a young 23 year old enthusiast, and collector from Berlin, Connecticut. I mainly collect Sears products and I have 4 Sears lawn tractors currently in my collection. One of which is my current project right now that I’m sharing here, a yellow and white 1967 Sears Craftsman 855C powered by an HH60 Tecumseh horizontal air cooled engine backed by a 3 speed transmission, with a 36 inch mowing deck that was an accessory. It was built by Roper for Sears and cost $375 back then when it was new. Its shipping weight was 432 pounds. These are facts I found on TractorData.com. I bought this tractor back on December 5th 2021 from a member on MyTractorForum.com. The owners name was Mike.

I also had the 10 horsepower model 857C version of the same tractor, so I had to get the 6 horsepower version to have both. I always wanted both. I asked Mike a question on the forum about his for my 10 horse at the time and said “if you ever want to sell it let me know”, and he asked if I wanted to buy it before he put it on facebook marketplace. Of course I said yes. I went to buy it and Mike said that it was sitting outside for 15 years, and that the owner before him was a kid who was going to scrap it. When I brought it home I immediately started taking it apart for restoration then started to buy parts I needed. As of 2024, the tractor is NOT finished yet. It is in the condition you see hopefully in my 3rd and 4th pictures down to its bare frame, I am trying to take my time and do it right, since this is my first full restoration. I hope I can have it done by 2025 or early 2026 sometime. Thank you for your time. –
