1950 Farmall H brought home for restoration

Our grandson, Logan Rickert, inherited a 1950 Farmall H tractor that his great-grandfather purchased brand new from George W. Kinsman, Inc., Honesdale, Pennsylvania. After many, many years of use on the family farm and at the local fair it was brought back home to rest.

Logan, now 14 years of age, wanted to put life back into the old tractor that had been sitting for a very, very long time. He asked his Opa, Bob Rickert, if he would help him with the task. His goal was to have it ready for the 2025 Callicoon, New York tractor parade in June. So Logan and his Dad, Jamie, delivered the tractor to Opa’s house in October 2024. They worked on it every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings after school and most every Saturday and Sunday.

They stripped it down to the bare bones and worked meticulously on every part of the tractor. The first part to come off was the air cleaner cap and it was the last part to go back on June 7, 2025. Logan had met his goal to drive in the 2025 Callicoon, New York tractor parade on June 8, 2025 with Opa riding on the back. He was one of 265 tractors.
