A new, stronger manifold.
Stronger than cast iron, our MFS1193 manifold is made from ductile iron and has a threaded vacuum port. In addition, you do not need an adaptor for the muffler as this TO20, TO30 manifold is exactly like the original.

As for cast iron material, if just from the cost reduction’s point of view, gray cast iron is an acceptable alternative. But its drawback is that its high-temperature oxidation resistance is poor. So with the rising of new engine’s temperature, the automotive industry begins to select ductile iron, which has good high-temperature oxidation resistance, to make exhaust manifold.
