Pictured below is Lainey Roberts she is the granddaughter of JR Roberts in our 'Parts Research & Special Orders' department. Lainey, 5 years old, attended her first tractor pull this summer at the Southwest Ohio Antique Tractor show in Eaton Ohio with her father Craig. Looks like she is following in the family tradition.
Switching from 6 to 12 Volt
If the tractor is a positive ground system it will have to be switched to a negative ground polarity.
To do this reverse the battery cables, reverse the amp gauge wires (negative ground = negative terminal on the coil going to the distributor)
If equipped with lights change the bulbs to 12 volt. You might consider a 0-60 amp gauge as most generator gauges stop at 30 amp.
Attach 1-wire from the threaded stud on the rear of the alternator and run it to the amp gauge, run a separate wire from the other amp gauge terminal to the positive side of the battery. When initially starting the tractor rev the engine to approximately 850 rpm to excite the internal regulator, the system should start charging.
Silver King Tractor
Above is a picture of my grandfather, Morgan Roberts, of Roberts Farm Equipment in Morning Sun Ohio. This was taken in the summer of 1948 at Preble County Fairgrounds in Eaton Ohio. Grandpa sold the Silver Kings new, I believe the mounted corn picker is a ’G.I.’ picker made by General Implement of Ohio, Grandpa also sold these new. When I was growing up we had a new Silver King model 42 that grandpa never sold, it had factory 3-pt-hitch, hydraulics and wide front. We used it in our salvage yard hauling torches and tools out to the field to take off tractor parts for customers. Eventually grandpa had a customer needing a F162 continental engine and he sold the engine out of it. As far as I know the rest of this tractor is still down in the salvage yard that my brother and sister still run.

47th Annual Farm Science Review
The Farm Science Review is a progressive farm show located at the Molly Caren Agricultural Center North of London Ohio.
Danny and I had a new location for our booth this year to get us close to the main spectator gate, which was nice. We talked to a lot of old and new customers and brought back more ideas for new parts.
After we set up Monday we went around to the various tractor clubs for a ‘meet & greet’ and took pictures. We also took more pictures during the show and of the Megasaurus Monster tank and the Silver Bullet pulling tractors.
The show was well attended, we passed out over 3,500 catalogs and approximately 1,500 cd’s.
