This 1941 Farmall A was purchased by my Grandfather, John Molitoris, new in 1941 on his farm in Sugerloaf, Pennsylvania. When I lived there I remember using it many times. The tractor was used regularly by my uncles until 2000 when the engine developed a knocking sound. It was parked by the barn and covered, with plans to repair it. Time went by and the cover deteriorated leaving it exposed to the elements. After 15 years the Pennsylvania winters had taken their toll on it.
In the summer of 2015 on a visit to the farm I asked my uncles if they were ever going to resurrect it. The answer was probably not, so in October 2015, I had it shipped to Cocoa Florida where I now live. My friend Dale Senn and I totally dismantled it, painted it, repaired the body parts, and rebuilt the engine. Start to finish the project took 60 days. It will probably never see the Pennsylvania farm or farm work again, but my grandchildren like to ride on it now. I am glad I was able to refurbish it to like new condition, and that it is still in the family after 75 years.
