Last Thursday we had some visitors passing thru on their way back home to Indiana. Tom Atkins, Richard Singer, Craig Hoffman and George Lucy were in the area all week making sure all the tractors were running smooth in the Charles Schneider collection that will be auctioned off in June by Mecum Gone Farmin’ Auctions.
Tom was hauling a few tractors that got employees here at Steiners’ to run out and take a look. The Wallis and Love tractors are something we don’t see everyday around here.

I am looking for a picture or an actual gear for a 1928 Wallis.

I have a restored Love tractor. I am looking for information as to,what the drive train is made up of. It appears to have a Ford 2 speed rear end. The engine I believe is a flat head Ford 6 only because I believe I can see the word Ford inscribed into the starter, Can you help,me? Butch
Lisa Warren says
Hi Butch!
Love tractor and Friday tractor companies worked together and used mostly Ford parts on a tractor chassis. We don’t have a lot of information on this brand of tractor, sorry!

Butch, I have a 1937 restored Love orchard tractor. It was originally power by a Ford Model B 4 cylinder truck engine. the original owner installed a 1953 239 Ford flathead V8 into it. Mine has a 4 speed trans with a hi/lo gearbox directly attached to it and a Detroit Timken rear end. All Loves were different. Most Friday Tractors had a 5 speed trans and a 2 speed rear end with a Chrysler 6 cylinder engine. Could this be what you have?
