Let me first start off by telling you I have wanted a tractor since I was 14 years old. And My Dad being born and raised in the heart of dairy land in Ohio was around tractors, hit-n-miss engines and steam engines most of his life. We always go to the shows around us and I would look at the tractors wishing for my own, a Farmall letter series. As it turned out we went to a show here and I saw a tractor for sale. I asked my dad about it, he said go ahead and look at it. So I did then returned and told him all about it. He replied that he would have to think about it. My heart sank !!. Whenever dad said that, it was not going to happen. So a few days passed and I got home from school and dad got back home. He said "Lets go and get some lumber". But, this time we went a different way. I was amazed when we pulled up to an old farm, my eyes where in disbelief. My heart was beating fast and I was short of breath. It was the most beautiful thing. It was a "1951 Farmall Super C" that I looked at at the show sitting next to a old barn. Two years later, my Dad and me fully restored the Super C. He made me do all the work AND rework on the old girl (as we call her). We did it all ourselves, rebuilting it from one end to the other, and paint job. It took me some time, yet I got it right. As Dad told me "do it right or don't do it at all".
Now being 18, I have learned so much about tractors with help from my Dad. Thank you Dad for all that you have helped me with, taught me about, and for giving me the love for old iron. I can only hope to pass it down to my kids, and for them to carry it on. Thank you Dad.
