Our 1954 Farmall Super MTA was purchased by my Grandfather Homer, Great Uncle Lester, and my Dad Dick Beal in 1958 for use on their farms in Mt. Savage, Maryland. The tractor, known to the family as "The Big Tractor", was used in plows, hay baler, combine, forage harvester, and manure spreader while working the farm. As a youngster I can remember baling hay with the MTA and I was too small to push the clutch in when a bale broke. Whoever was on the wagon would jump off the wagon and run up and stop the tractor. Unsafe by today's standards however back then it was perfectly normal. Many people remember it pulling the hay wagon for hay rides anytime there was a function in Mt. Savage. It was used continuously until it was parked in 1984….
